The Controllable Flush was invented in 1986 by Bob Moore, a Portland boat owner who was looking for a way to save water in his house and on his old cabin cruiser. After going through several prototypes, he submitted the Controllable Flush to Stevens Institute of Technology for testing in 1992. The Institute determined that the Controllable Flush was one of the best retrofit water-saving devices in the United States.
Athena president Steve Lord bought the patent in 1996, and today manufactures the Controllable Flush under strict ISO 9002 certification. It is truly “Made in the USA.”
